Steve Kulchin President
Upon Graduating the School of Architecture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, Steve founded a design & construction business. During the early 1980’s he pioneered the use of Soil Nailing into many different markets. Based on his permanent soil nailed wall method, a USA Patent was issued in 1988, and this time & cost saving method continues to be widely specified as a routine geotechnical construction technique today.
Steve has constructed Specialty Drilled Construction projects though out the Western States, Intermountain Region, and the MidWest utilizing all currently specified Geo-construction techniques on a broad range of applications.
Steve has presented geotechnical engineering construction short courses at Universities and at State/Federal Highway Administration D.O.T.s and at National Drilling Association Conferences. His International Experience includes technology transfer trips to Europe and continuing his associations with leading European Geotechnical contractors keeping him involved in the continuing evolution of geotechnical construction techniques.
Today, as President of KULCHIN-Foundation Drilling Company, Steve continues to work on many ambitious “state-of-the-art” projects in very diverse geologic conditions, and is widely recognized for his specialized drilled construction knowledge.
